Plateau: PDP’s Beni Lar re-elected for 5th term

The incumbent House of Representatives member representing Langtang North,/Langtang South Constituency, Beni Butmak Lar (PDP) has won a record fifth term in office in the National Assembly following Saturday’s polls.

Lar was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Prof Jonathan Daboer after polling 42, 008 votes to defeat her closest rival, Vincent Venmak Bulus of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 21, 345.

Barr Solomon Dalung, a former Minister of Sports during President Buhari’s first tenure, who also contested the election on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, polled 3, 369 votes.

Lar, is a daughter of late Chief Solomon Lar, the first civilian governor of old Plateau State and founding National Chairman of the PDP.
