#NigeriaElections2023: Jimoh Ibrahim wins Ondo South senatorial seat 

A businessman and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State, Dr Jimoh Ibrahim, has been declared winner of the senatorial election held on Saturday.

Ibrahim defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Mr Agboola Ajayi.

The announcement of the election result was disclosed by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

According to the INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Fashimilehin,  Ibrahim polled 110, 665 votes while Ajayi scored 65,784 votes.

Announcing the result, Fashimilehin said, “Having polled the highest number of votes of 110,665, I hereby declare Ibrahim of the APC winner of the election in Ondo South.

“I, Prof. Fashimilehin, by the powers conferred on me as the INEC Returning Officer for this election and having satisfied the highest number of votes, hereby declare Jimoh Ibrahim returned as elected,” he announced.
