The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has lost the senatorial seat of Jigawa Central to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In addition to this loss, the APC also surrendered two House of Representatives seats to the PDP, while one seat was won by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). The results were announced in Dutse by the Returning Officer, Prof. Usman Haruna, who reported that Mustafa Habeeb of the PDP received 153,731 votes, defeating his closest rival, Mr. Sabo Nakudu of the APC, who garnered 134,802 votes. Mustafa Habeeb also outperformed Mr. Musa Bako of the NNPP, who secured 18,662 votes, as well as Musa Abdullahi of the ADC with 620 votes, Hindatu Ibrahim of the NRM with 462 votes, and Gambo Bala Amina of the SDP with 292 votes.

Despite the losses in Jigawa Central, the APC managed to retain the remaining two senatorial seats in the Jigawa North-West and Jigawa North-East zones. In the Jigawa North-West Senatorial District, Alhaji Babangida Uba of the APC was declared the winner, having received 187,049 votes. The Returning Officer, Prof. Ahmed Baita Garba, announced that Uba defeated Senator Ibrahim Saminu Turaki of the PDP, who received 134,199 votes, and Nasuru Bala of the ADC, who garnered 2,644 votes.

In the Jigawa North-East, the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Adamu Isge, declared Ahmed Malam-Madori as the newly elected senator representing the region in the upper chamber. Madori, also from the APC, secured 136,977 votes, while Muhd Garba of the NNPP received 29,485 votes, and Dr. Nuradden Muhd of the PDP obtained 107,457 votes. Overall, the APC won eight out of eleven federal constituencies, losing the remaining three to opposition parties. The three federal constituency seats lost by the APC include Birnin Kudu/Buji, Dutse/Kiyawa, and Gwaram.
