Nigeria Weather Forecast Predicts Thunderstorms Rain

Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms with moderate rains are forecast for Nasarawa, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory. The southern region is likely to experience intermittent moderate rainfall throughout the period, with flooding prospects in parts of Lagos, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States.

On Saturday, the northern region will see a cloudy atmosphere with sunshine intervals, while isolated thunderstorms and moderate rains are expected over Taraba, Adamawa, and Kaduna. The central region will remain cloudy with occasional sunshine, and the southern region is likely to receive moderate rains over parts of Lagos, Ogun, and other states. For Sunday, NiMet predicts cloudy skies with sunshine intervals over the northern region, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and light rains in parts of Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina. The central and southern regions are also expected to experience cloudy skies with moderate rain.

NiMet advises residents to take necessary precautions, such as avoiding driving in heavy rain, refraining from applying fertilizer and pesticides before the rains, securing loose objects that could cause collisions, and staying away from tall trees to avoid falling branches.
