Honda Manufacturing (Nigeria) Limited has recently launched a new motorcycle, the Honda CB Unicorn, in the Nigerian market, aiming to elevate performance standards within the subsector. The Managing Director of Honda Nigeria Limited, Hirohide Ichikawa, made this announcement during his keynote address, describing the new product as “very reliable for commercial and private use.” He emphasized that the Honda Unicorn was manufactured using the innovative precision technology that the Honda brand is known for, highlighting its unique and impressive features that make it the best in its class.

Ichikawa explained that the Honda Unicorn was designed to perfection following extensive consultations with Honda’s business partners, the distribution value chain, and end users. He noted that the motorcycle has gained popularity in India and the Middle East, where the company has recorded sales of over 150,000 units in a year. Despite the challenging economic climate in Nigeria, Ichikawa expressed pride in launching the Honda Unicorn, stating, “This doesn’t only symbolize hope for a better future but also expresses our continued belief and trust in the Nigerian dream.”

The Sales Manager of the company, Olabade Badejo, further elaborated on the Unicorn motorcycle’s standout features during his presentation. He highlighted its convenience for riders and the availability of parts, stating, “It is best in fuel consumption, it guarantees high quality and durability, and it has a high resale value.” The company targets both private and corporate customers, noting that the motorcycle is suitable for dispatch riders of banks, delivery organizations, corporate entities, leisure riders, and security agencies for patrol purposes.

Badejo also pointed out that Honda motorcycles are utilized in over 175 countries. He announced the company’s plan to commence safety riding training in April 2023, aimed at enhancing riders’ skills, increasing profitability, and improving the safety image of the organization. The training will focus on riding mechanisms, accident responsibility, cornering postures, balancing, and braking systems.
