The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Nigeria, has declared its readiness for the 2027 general elections, according to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. Speaking at the party’s state congress in Yola, Fintiri said the PDP is repositioned and poised to deliver good governance for the people. The congress, described as transparent and fair, elected new leaders, including Alhaji Hamza Madagali as State Chairman and Mr. Saleh Shelleng as Secretary. These executives are expected to steer the party’s affairs for the next four years, building on past successes and strengthening its position in the state.
Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in the new leaders, citing their experience in party politics and their ability to guide the PDP toward a successful outing in 2027. He also emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation between the government and the party to ensure effective governance. Mrs. Golfa Mallim, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for the Guyuk/Shelleng Federal Constituency, congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to build on the party’s achievements. She described Alhaji Madagali as a man of the people and a visionary leader who would strengthen the PDP, while stressing the need for unity and reconciliation within the party to avoid internal divisions that could jeopardize future polls.
The election of new leaders in Adamawa State is seen as a significant step in the PDP’s preparation for the 2027 general elections. With the new executives in place, the party aims to reclaim more political seats and demonstrate its capacity for good governance and effective leadership. This repositioning forms part of a broader effort by the PDP to regain its footing in Nigerian politics and present a viable alternative to the ruling party. As the 2027 elections approach, the party’s performance in Adamawa State will be closely watched and will play an important role in determining its overall success and the future political landscape of the country.
