Ikpeazu made these statements in a press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, which was shared with newsmen on Wednesday in Umuahia. He emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the security and peace that Abia has consistently enjoyed during his tenure. He expressed gratitude that, thus far, there have been no reports of loss of life during the presidential and National Assembly elections, nor any incidents of electoral violence.
On a personal note, Ikpeazu reflected on his sense of fulfillment, stating that he has overcome many challenges and won numerous elections, including the battle against COVID-19. He acknowledged that elections occur every four years, and like any contest, there are victories and defeats.
Furthermore, Ikpeazu assured that the state government is determined to replicate the peace and security experienced during the recent elections in the upcoming governorship and state House of Assembly polls. He stated that the events following the presidential and National Assembly elections would not deter the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia from striving to successfully deliver all its candidates on March 11. He urged the people of Abia to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.
