The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released an update on the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, offering insight into the demographics of registered voters. As of the sixth week of the exercise, covering September 22‑28 2025, a total of 6,232,673 individuals have initiated registration. This figure includes 3,250,338 females (52.15 % of the total) and 2,982,335 males (47.85 %). A notable trend is the high participation of youths, with 4,230,715 people aged 18‑34 registering. In addition, 1,565,824 students and 137,865 persons with disabilities have also joined the roll, indicating strong engagement among young people and vulnerable groups.
Regarding completed registrations, from September 22‑26 2025 a total of 1,004,132 individuals finalized their registration. Of these, 537,743 completed the process online and 466,389 did so physically. Females accounted for 555,077 completions (55.28 %), while males made up 449,055 (44.72 %). Youths aged 18‑34 contributed 742,379 of the completed registrations, and students and persons with disabilities accounted for 354,406 and 13,987, respectively.
These statistics demonstrate the progress of the CVR exercise and underscore the importance of voter registration in the democratic process. As the exercise continues, monitoring trends and demographics remains essential to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive electoral process.
