US lawmaker warns of ‘powerful people’ trying to silence her over Epstein  — RT World News

U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has renewed her push to release the remaining files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the financier and convicted sex offender who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex‑trafficking charges. Greene is backing a House resolution that would compel the Justice Department to turn over all outstanding Epstein documents. The resolution, introduced by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, requires 218 signatures to bypass committee leadership and go directly to the floor.

Greene has claimed that “powerful people” are trying to silence her over her effort to obtain the files. She has taken to social media to reassure her followers that she is “not suicidal” and that any harm she might suffer would not be self‑inflicted. She warned that if she were ever found dead, her supporters should “find out” what really happened, suggesting that foreign governments or influential individuals might be trying to keep the information from emerging.

The White House has been privately urging lawmakers to abandon the petition, but Greene says she has no intention of backing down. She emphasizes that her goal is to expose the “Epstein rape and pedophile network” and to stand with girls and women who have been sexually abused and raped.

Earlier this month, the House Oversight Committee released 33,295 pages of Justice Department records on Epstein, including redacted court files, surveillance footage and other evidence. More recently, House Democrats released another batch of documents—calendars, flight logs and financial ledgers—that name prominent individuals such as Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and Steve Bannon. Republicans have accused Democrats of “cherry‑picking” the documents to spotlight conservatives while withholding material that could implicate Democrats.

The release of the Epstein files has sparked a heated debate, with many calling for greater transparency and accountability. The outcome of Greene’s petition and the potential release of the remaining files remain uncertain.
