The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the restoration of bulk electricity supply to the Mando-Kaduna 132-kilovolt transmission line, following a period of outages in Southern Kaduna. According to TCN spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, the supply was reinstated at 5:23 pm on October 9, 2025, after repairs to the collapsed Tower No. 7 in Rigasa Community, Kaduna State.
The collapse of the tower had led to power outages in parts of the state, particularly in Southern Kaduna. TCN’s engineering and maintenance teams worked to repair and reinforce the damaged tower, ensuring the safe and efficient restoration of bulk power transmission. The company has expressed appreciation for the patience and cooperation of affected electricity customers and the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, which provided support throughout the outage period.
The incident had resulted from the collapse of TCN’s towers in Kaduna State Town Line I and II, located in the Rigasa community. The transmission line, which supplies electricity to the region, was affected, leading to widespread outages. The TCN’s swift response and repair efforts have helped to minimize the disruption to electricity customers in the area.
The restoration of bulk electricity supply to the Mando-Kaduna transmission line is a significant development, as it will help to alleviate the challenges faced by residents and businesses in Southern Kaduna. The TCN’s efforts to maintain and improve the country’s power transmission infrastructure are crucial to ensuring a stable and reliable electricity supply. As the company continues to work on upgrading and reinforcing its transmission lines, electricity customers can expect improved service and reduced outages in the future.
