Adams Oshiomhole, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has asserted that both Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party are lying in their claims of having won the recent presidential election. Following the election, the PDP and the Labour Party rejected the declaration made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which stated that Bola Tinubu of the APC emerged victorious. During separate press conferences, both Atiku and Obi claimed to have won the election.

In an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Oshiomhole pointed out that Atiku and Obi were accusing each other of rigging. He stated, “Between His Excellency, Peter Obi, my very good friend, and His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, one of them must be lying. That is clear by the fact that Atiku, who came second, said he won, while Obi, who came third, claimed he is the one who won.” Oshiomhole emphasized that their conflicting claims suggest that they are attempting to undermine each other’s victories, indicating that one of them is indeed lying. He noted that this contradiction will likely be a significant point of contention when they take their disputes to court.

Furthermore, the APC chieftain maintained that the presidential election was credible, highlighting that Tinubu was the only candidate who lost in his home state. He also pointed out that even sitting governors from the APC faced defeats in their senatorial bids within their own states.
