The Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Folorunso Aluko, announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) expects to gain six additional state governors by 2027. He made the statement during the PGF Quarterly Strategy meeting of Information Commissioners from APC‑led states, which was held in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Thursday.
Aluko said the APC is well‑positioned to achieve its goals and to strengthen its strategic posture. He expressed confidence that the PGF will expand its presence from the current 24 states to at least 30 states by 2027, emphasizing the need to align state actions with the federal government’s vision, promote unity and integrity, and serve with renewed hope in the nation‑building effort. “By the grace of God and the will of Nigerians, we are confident that the PGF will rise from today’s 24 states to at least 30 states before the end of 2027,” he said, adding that the party is ensuring every message has a measurable impact.
Aluko’s conviction is that the APC will continue to grow stronger as the country approaches 2027. The Progressive Governors Forum plays a crucial role in promoting the APC’s agenda and supporting its governors in their respective states. With the party’s focus on expanding its presence and strengthening its strategic posture, it is likely to remain a major player in Nigerian politics.
As Nigeria moves toward 2027, the APC’s growth and expansion plans are expected to have significant implications for the political landscape. The party’s emphasis on unity, integrity, and nation‑building will influence the country’s development and progress. Quarterly strategy meetings like the one in Maiduguri provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss and refine strategies, helping ensure that the APC remains a dominant force in Nigerian politics.
