APC Chairman Assures Equal Rights for Defectors

Rivers APC Defends Strategy Amid Calls for Wike to Join

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yiltwatda, has assured that all defectors joining the party will be treated equally and enjoy the same rights as existing members. This assurance was made during an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting of the party held at the Crest Hotel in Jos, Plateau State, which was attended by top party stalwarts and political leaders across the state.

According to Professor Yiltwatda, several prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are expected to join the ruling party next week. He stated that all arrangements for their defection have been concluded, and the incoming members include serving and former governors, as well as National Assembly members. This development is seen as a significant boost to the APC’s membership and influence in the region.

Professor Yiltwatda emphasized that every new member would be treated as an equal partner in the party’s progress, enjoying the same rights and privileges as those who have been with the party from the beginning. He attributed this approach to the party’s belief in fairness and equal treatment for all members. The chairman also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his inclusive leadership style, which has given Plateau State recognition and a stronger voice in national politics.

The APC chairman’s assurance of equal treatment for defectors is likely to have a positive impact on the party’s growth and cohesion. With the expected influx of new members from the ADC, the party is poised to strengthen its position in the region. As the 2027 elections approach, the APC’s ability to attract and integrate new members will be crucial in determining its success.

Professor Yiltwatda expressed his appreciation for President Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a friend of the minority who has promoted fairness and given Plateau State a sense of belonging. He emphasized that the party has every reason to support the president’s re-election bid in 2027, citing his inclusive approach to governance. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the APC’s commitment to equal treatment for all members is likely to be a key factor in its future success.
