Let's unite, occupy Aso Rock for Nnamdi Kanu's release - Ikenga Think- Tank urges Nigerians

A pan‑Igbo group, Ikenga Think‑Tank, has called on all Nigerians to join a protest demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra. The demonstration, scheduled for 20 October, will be led by activist Omoyele Sowore. In a statement issued by Dr. Dunkwu Agbambu, the group emphasized that Kanu’s struggle represents all oppressed Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or religion.

The communiqué, titled “The Peoples Communique for Justice and Liberation,” demands Kanu’s immediate release and urges various ethnic groups to support the protest. Ikenga Think‑Tank argues that the nation’s current challenges—such as Fulani terrorism and perceived government inaction—require a unified response from every Nigerian. The statement highlights what it sees as systemic injustices, including the manipulation of the courts and the oppression of indigenous peoples.

According to the group, Kanu’s warnings about the spread of terror and the infiltration of institutions have proven accurate, and his detention is a consequence of speaking truth to power. Ikenga Think‑Tank calls on all indigenous tribes, students, farmers, and patriots to occupy major cities and demand Kanu’s release. The protest, it stresses, is not a challenge to the state but a plea for justice.

The organization appeals for a peaceful, unified exercise, emphasizing that freedom and justice are universal values belonging to all Nigerians. Drawing inspiration from the country’s ancestors who fought for freedom and dignity, Ikenga Think‑Tank urges every Nigerian to rise and claim their rights. While the planned protest has raised concerns about potential breakdowns in law and order, the group remains committed to a peaceful yet relentless movement, stressing the importance of unity and discipline in the face of oppression. Their demand is simple: the immediate and unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu.
