Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to connecting all regions of the state to promote sustained economic development. He made this pledge during a meeting with participants from the Strategic Management and Policy Studies, Course 5/22, at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja. The governor emphasized that security agencies have been collaborating effectively with the government to ensure the safety of the state.
According to the Voice of Nigeria, the study group, led by Major-General K.I. Mukhtar, visited Governor Makinde at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office in the Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan. In his address to the course participants, the governor highlighted the significant progress his administration has made through its four-point service agenda, which focuses on education, health, agribusiness expansion, and security.
Makinde noted that his administration has assembled a strong security team that has been working diligently to maintain safety and security in the state. He remarked on the substantial advancements achieved in these four key areas. The governor stated, “Regarding our zones, we want them to be carried along strategically, and the only way to do that is for us to link the zones together. When they are linked with infrastructure economically, then we remain linked as well.” He further mentioned that they have successfully connected Ibadan, the main consumption center, to Oke-Ogun and other regions, and that the link between Oyo and Oke-Ogun is nearly complete.
