Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has inaugurated two key subcommittees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the party prepares for its 2025 elective national convention. The Accreditation and Special Duties subcommittees were inaugurated separately in Abuja, with the former taking place at the PDP Legacy House in Maitama and the latter at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza.
The PDP’s national convention is scheduled to take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Accreditation subcommittee, which was inaugurated on Friday, is responsible for producing the delegates’ list, booklets, and tags for participants and observers. Additionally, the committee will oversee the accreditation and welfare of delegates attending the convention.
The Special Duties Subcommittee, also inaugurated by Governor Lawal, will coordinate financial activities, approve budgets, and manage disbursements during the convention. The committee will also be responsible for fundraising efforts. Both subcommittees are part of the National Convention Organising Committee, which is working to ensure a smooth and credible exercise.
The inauguration of these subcommittees marks a significant step in the PDP’s preparations for its national convention. With the event scheduled to take place in just a few weeks, the party is gearing up for an important gathering that will shape its future. The commencement of these subcommittees’ work is expected to facilitate a well-organized and successful convention.
As the PDP prepares for its national convention, the party is focused on ensuring a transparent and credible process. The accreditation and special duties subcommittees will play critical roles in this regard, and their work will be closely watched by party members and observers alike. With the convention just around the corner, all eyes are on the PDP as it takes these important steps towards a successful event.
