APC Ekiti Delegate Congress Conducted Peacefully

Party chieftain reveals reasons for mass defection to APC in Abia

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Appeal Panel for the Ekiti delegate congress has commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of the exercise held across the state. Dr. Dennis Otiotio, Chairman of the panel and also the APC Chairman in Bayelsa State, made this statement at the party’s state secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.

The APC had constituted a five-man appeal panel to receive complaints from aggrieved members regarding the conduct of the delegate congress. A public notice was issued and circulated to all local government secretariats, inviting members with grievances to submit their petitions within a specified timeframe. However, no petitions were received, indicating a smooth and transparent process.

Otiotio attributed the success of the congress to the inclusive governance style of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, which has fostered harmony within the party. The consensus reached across all wards demonstrates the level of cooperation among members. The APC Chairman in Ekiti State, Mr. Olusola Eleshin, also confirmed that the delegate congress was conducted peacefully and without any form of malpractice.

The appeal panel’s findings suggest that the electoral committee handled the process efficiently and transparently. Otiotio expressed confidence that the APC would perform well in the forthcoming general elections, citing the party’s unity and peaceful atmosphere as key factors. He also appreciated the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party for the confidence reposed in the appeal panel.

The successful conduct of the delegate congress is a significant development for the APC in Ekiti State, as it demonstrates the party’s ability to manage its internal processes effectively. With the appeal panel’s findings confirming the transparency and peaceful nature of the congress, the party can now focus on preparing for the upcoming elections. The APC’s leadership, under Governor Oyebanji, will likely build on this momentum to strengthen the party’s position in the state.
