The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has suspended member Dr. Sule‑Iko Sadeeq for allegedly declaring himself the party’s state chairman without authorization. The suspension was announced on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi by state publicity secretary Abubakar Atiku‑Musa, who said the action takes effect immediately in response to recent developments within the party.

According to the statement, the decision follows due consultation and complies with the party’s constitution and directives from the National Working Committee (NWC). The NWC has resolved that all state chairmen must retain their positions until the end of their tenure, which expires in May 2026. The party’s coalition leader was reportedly unaware of any self‑proclamation or unilateral assumption of office by Sadeeq without proper consultation or authorization.

Consequently, the State Working Committee (SWC) of ADC Kebbi has officially suspended Dr. Sadeeq and warned him against participating in any party activities. The statement reaffirmed Sufiyanu Bala as the duly recognized and constitutional chairman of the ADC in the state and called on security agencies to prevent Sadeeq from presenting himself as chairman or engaging in party activities under that title.

All party members, supporters, and the public are urged to disregard any unauthorized claims or statements from Dr. Sadeeq that contradict the party’s official position. The suspension underscores the importance of adhering to the party’s constitution and directives, aiming to maintain order and stability within the ADC’s Kebbi State chapter. As the situation unfolds, the party is expected to continue enforcing its rules and preserving its leadership structure.
