The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State is poised to emerge stronger and more united after its forthcoming national convention, according to the party’s chairman, Mr. Adamu Ninga. The convention, scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15 to 16, aims to elect new national officers and strategize for the 2027 general elections.
Ninga expressed his optimism after an expanded meeting of the State Executive Council of the party in Lafia. He described the convention as a significant milestone for the PDP, which will provide an opportunity to strengthen internal unity and reposition the party for electoral success at both national and state levels. The chairman emphasized that the party is more united and determined than ever to reclaim its position in Nigerian politics, particularly in Nasarawa State.
The convention will also serve as a platform to resolve internal disagreements and chart a new course for the future. Ninga assured that under his leadership, the party will ensure a level playing field for all members, especially those aspiring for elective offices in 2027. He pledged an all-inclusive leadership style that will give every member a sense of belonging.
Nasarawa State delegates are expected to conduct themselves responsibly at the convention and elect competent leaders capable of leading the party to victory in 2027. Notably, women have been allotted four delegate slots from each of the 13 local government areas of the state to participate in the convention, promoting gender representation and inclusivity.
The PDP’s national convention comes at a critical time for the party, as it seeks to reposition itself for the 2027 general elections. With a focus on strengthening internal unity and promoting inclusivity, the party aims to increase its chances of electoral success. As the convention approaches, all eyes will be on the PDP to see if it can indeed emerge stronger and more united, ready to reclaim its place in Nigerian politics.
