Lawmaker Defects to APC from PDP in Kaduna State

Lawmaker Daniel Amos, representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In a resignation letter to the PDP Ward chairman in Jagindi Ward, Jema’a local government area, Kaduna State, Amos cited the party’s internal divisions and crises as the reason for his decision.

Amos expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing him with a platform to serve and engage in the democratic process. However, he stated that the party’s internal issues have hindered collective progress and the pursuit of unity and purpose. After consulting with his supporters and stakeholders, Amos believed it was time to join a new party that aligns with his convictions and the aspirations of his constituents for effective representation and development.

The lawmaker assured that he remains committed to working with all individuals who share a vision for the advancement of Kaduna State and Nigeria. While briefing journalists in Kafanchan, Amos announced that his defection, along with many other PDP members from Southern Kaduna to the APC, would benefit the area, the state, and the country as a whole. He emphasized that the defectors would continue to work with the ruling party to ensure that the Southern Kaduna zone benefits from federal and state government initiatives.

The defection of Amos and other PDP members to the APC is significant, as it may impact the political landscape of Kaduna State and Nigeria. The move is seen as an attempt to strengthen the ruling party’s presence in the region and potentially alter the balance of power in the state. As the political situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this development will affect the lives of citizens in Southern Kaduna and beyond. With the APC gaining more support in the region, the party is likely to increase its efforts to deliver on its promises and improve the lives of its constituents.
