The Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) has introduced several innovations to enhance the voting process and transparency in the upcoming local government elections. According to Philip Duwe, the Commission’s Chairman, the primary goal is to deliver a credible election that reflects the true will of the people.
In a press briefing in Jalingo, Dr. Duwe highlighted the Commission’s engagement with civil‑society organizations and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process. He commended journalists for their comprehensive coverage and urged them to maintain professionalism and ethical standards during the polls.
The TSIEC Chairman also disclosed that more than 23 local government chairmen from across Nigeria, as well as local and international election observers, are in Taraba State to monitor the election. All court cases previously filed against the Commission have been resolved in its favor, paving the way for an unhindered electoral exercise.
