The Nigerian Air Force has conducted a series of precision airstrikes against terrorist and bandit enclaves in multiple states, resulting in significant casualties and damage to their infrastructure. According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operations were carried out on November 9 in Borno, Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States.

The airstrikes, which were part of Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA, targeted hideouts, logistics hubs, and weapons storage facilities used by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and other terrorist groups. In Borno State, the air force targeted areas around Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, destroying enemy hideouts and crippling their mobility in the Lake Chad Basin.

In addition to the operations in Borno, the air force also conducted airstrikes in Kwara and Katsina States, targeting bandit hideouts at Garin Dandi, Chigogo, and Zango Hill. Similar operations were carried out in Zamfara and Kaduna States, where terrorists on motorcycles attempting to flee were engaged and neutralized along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis.

The Nigerian Air Force has intensified its counterterrorism and counter-banditry efforts in recent weeks, with a focus on degrading terrorist and criminal networks across the northern region. The air force has been working to deploy intelligence-driven airpower to safeguard citizens and enhance national security. The latest operations reflect the renewed tempo of the Air Force under the leadership of Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, the Chief of the Air Staff.

The airstrikes are part of a broader effort by the Nigerian military to combat terrorism and banditry in the region. The operations have resulted in significant successes, including the neutralization of scores of terrorists and bandits, and the destruction of their infrastructure. The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to protecting citizens and enhancing national security through the effective deployment of airpower.
