Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, a former Senate Leader and the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election, said that the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has learned from its defeats in the 2019 and 2023 gubernatorial contests. The party lost both elections to the Peoples Democratic Party, but Folarin expressed confidence that it is ready to reclaim the state in 2027. He noted that all party chieftains and leaders have resolved to work together toward this goal.
Folarin made these remarks while being elevated to Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland by the Olubadan, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja. He described the unique Ibadan system as “rancor‑free” and said the promotion gives him an opportunity to serve the people more effectively. He also emphasized that party unity and love are essential, stating that members must “love the party” to achieve success.
Recently, Folarin met with President Bola Tinubu to discuss strategies for improving the APC’s performance in Oyo State. He reiterated that the party has the capacity to win in 2027 and that his goal, along with other APC members, is to secure victory in the next general elections. Folarin pledged that he and his colleagues will work hard to sell their message across the state, aiming to increase their vote total from over 400,000 to more than 600,000.
With party leaders and chieftains cooperating, the APC is poised to make a strong comeback in the 2027 elections, focusing on unity, outreach, and a renewed commitment to the electorate.
