The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has launched an electronic registration project aimed at bolstering its membership and enhancing party management. At a meeting in Yola on Monday, party leaders set a target of recruiting 200,000 new members within the first month of the registration exercise.
The meeting brought together local government chairmen, party officials, and prominent members from across the state. According to Adamawa State APC Secretary, Dr. Raymond Chidama, the digital registration system will revolutionize the party’s approach to membership management. “This digital system will help us accurately identify our members and extend opportunities to the right people,” he explained.
The state APC Organizing Secretary and Coordinator of the e-registration exercise, Mustapha Ribadu, emphasized the need for the initiative, citing a review of the party’s voting performance compared to its membership claims. The revalidation and upgrade of the membership register are expected to rebuild the party on a foundation of credibility and accuracy.
A prominent party member and governorship hopeful, Abdulrahman Haske, also spoke at the occasion, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections. “We will take back Adamawa State,” he said, attributing the party’s previous losses in 2019 and 2023 to internal divisions. Haske asserted that the party is now on a winning trajectory, having addressed its internal issues.
The e-registration project is seen as a key step in strengthening the APC’s presence in Adamawa State. With a focus on accuracy and credibility, the party aims to rebuild its membership base and enhance its electoral chances. The success of this initiative will be crucial in determining the party’s fortunes in future elections, particularly in the run-up to 2027. As the APC continues to implement its e-registration project, the outcome is likely to have significant implications for the party’s trajectory in Adamawa State.
