FAAN Warns Against Fake Aviation Recruitment Advert

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has issued a warning to the public to disregard a fake online recruitment advertisement claiming to be from the agency. According to a statement signed by Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, the advertisement falsely claims that Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel are being recruited through a link associated with FAAN.

The agency emphasized that no AVSEC recruitment is currently underway and advised the public not to click on the link or provide any personal information to unknown sources. This warning is aimed at protecting individuals from potential scams and data breaches. FAAN urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious messages or websites to the relevant authorities.

The fake recruitment advertisement has been circulating online, with a link purportedly associated with FAAN. However, the agency has categorically stated that it is not conducting any AVSEC recruitment at this time. The advertisement, including the link attached to it, is fake and has no connection with FAAN.

FAAN has advised the public to rely only on its verified channels for authentic information. The agency’s official statement read, in part, “We wish to categorically state that FAAN is not conducting any AVSEC recruitment at this time. The advertisement in circulation, including the link attached to it, is fake, misleading, and has no connection whatsoever with FAAN.”

This incident highlights the importance of verifying information through official channels, especially when it comes to job recruitment and personal data. FAAN’s warning serves as a reminder to the public to be cautious when encountering online advertisements, especially those that require personal information or ask individuals to click on unfamiliar links.

The agency’s efforts to combat fake recruitment advertisements are part of its commitment to protecting the public and maintaining the integrity of its recruitment processes. By dismissing the fake advertisement and providing guidance to the public, FAAN aims to prevent potential scams and ensure that individuals are not misled by false information.
