The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has initiated a comprehensive e-registration exercise for its members, marking a significant step towards repositioning the party as a modern and digitally driven organization. According to the party’s chairman, Yemi Sanusi, this exercise is the foundation of the party’s future electoral successes and internal planning.
Sanusi made this statement during the flag-off of a training session for local government supervisors and other officials in Abeokuta, the state capital. The training is aimed at equipping party officials with the necessary skills to establish a robust and verifiable digital database of all APC members across the state. The chairman emphasized that the digitalization of the party’s membership register is a core mission designed to strengthen the party’s foundation and enhance its operational efficiency.
The e-registration exercise, expected to commence before the end of the year, aligns with the party’s renewed drive to modernize its operations. Sanusi stressed that the party is on a strategic mission to count its votes before the election by knowing and digitally documenting every single member. He admonished all officials involved in the exercise to demonstrate utmost diligence, as their activities would be closely monitored at the highest levels.
The training session was facilitated by Olusegun Bankole, Administrator for Ogun Central Senatorial District, who took participants through the technical rudiments and operational protocols of the party’s online registration platform. The party’s Organising Secretary, Yemi Adelani, charged supervisors to prepare for the task ahead, urging them to work collectively with ward agents to ensure every party member is effectively mobilized and registered on the portal.
The party’s Secretary, Aderibigbe Tella, cautioned all participants to adhere strictly to the laid-down guidelines for the registration exercise to ensure uniformity, accuracy, and overall success. The party has called on members and the general public to await further announcements and participate fully in the e-registration exercise when it begins.
This development is in line with the National Chairman of the party’s recent reaffirmation of the APC’s commitment to fully implementing its membership e-registration exercise launched last year. The successful implementation of this exercise is expected to enhance the party’s operational efficiency and strengthen its foundation, ultimately contributing to its future electoral successes.
