The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen, has launched a series of development projects in Zaria, aimed at addressing insecurity and promoting economic stability. The Renewed Hope Legacy Projects, which include the Federal College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Federal Sports Academy, and Federal Technical and Vocational Training Center, are designed to equip young people with practical skills in various sectors.
According to Dr. Tajuddeen, these institutions will provide training in areas such as agriculture, technology, construction, leadership, and sports, which have direct links to peace-building and economic stability. The projects are expected to expand opportunities for young people, build stronger and more resilient communities, and reduce the vulnerability of youth to criminal recruitment.
The Speaker emphasized that long-term stability depends on empowering the youth, and that the legacy projects are part of a deliberate strategy to address the root causes of insecurity through education, skills training, jobs, and improved infrastructure. He noted that significant progress is being recorded in security operations nationwide, thanks to the efforts of President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas, commended the Speaker for the unprecedented wave of development projects transforming Zaria and its surrounding communities. He praised the strong partnership between the President, the Kaduna State Governor, and the Speaker, which has resulted in numerous infrastructural and educational projects being executed across the constituency.
Among the projects launched were the Federal College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Federal Technical and Vocational Training College, Federal Sports Academy, Centre for Management Development, and male and female hostels at the Nigerian Institute of Leather Science and Technology. The Speaker also launched a 250-fully-funded scholarship for students studying leather technology.
The Renewed Hope Legacy Projects reflect a comprehensive approach to addressing the complex issues of insecurity and economic instability. By providing young people with skills and employment opportunities, the projects aim to reduce the appeal of criminal activities and promote community growth. As the Speaker noted, empowering the youth is crucial to achieving long-term stability, and these projects are an important step in that direction.
