President Bola Tinubu has appointed six zonal coordinators to lead the Renewed Hope Initiative Committees, a move aimed at driving his administration’s development vision across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The appointments were announced during the inauguration of the committees, which was chaired by Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The coordinators are Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, former governor of Delta State, for the South‑South zone; Isah Yuguda, former governor of Bauchi, for the North‑East zone; and Aminu Bello Masari, former governor of Katsina, for the North‑West zone. Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former President of the Senate, will coordinate the South‑East zone, while Oladipupo Oyinbande will lead the South‑West zone. Umar Tanko Al‑Makura, former governor of Nasarawa State, has been appointed coordinator for the North‑Central zone.

The Renewed Hope Initiative is designed to promote strategic engagements, mobilization efforts, and developmental interventions across the regions, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision for national renewal. The initiative marks a significant step in expanding the reach of the President’s political and socioeconomic agenda nationwide, and the inauguration underscores the administration’s commitment to driving development and growth across the country.

With the zonal coordinators in place, the Renewed Hope Initiative is expected to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and private‑sector organizations. The coordinators will play a crucial role in identifying priority areas for development and mobilizing resources to support the implementation of projects and programmes. The success of the initiative will depend on effective coordination and collaboration among the zonal teams, as well as the support of stakeholders at both national and local levels.

The appointment of the coordinators and the launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative demonstrate President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering on his campaign promises and driving meaningful change in Nigeria. As the initiative progresses, it will be important to monitor its progress and assess its impact on the country’s development trajectory.
