Tinubu Gets Rivers Assembly Endorsement For Second Term

The Rivers State House of Assembly has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term, citing his administration’s numerous investments in the state. During its 37th legislative session, the house expressed appreciation for the federal government’s presence in the state, which they attributed to Tinubu’s leadership.

The endorsement was formalized through a motion signed by 26 members and presented by the House Leader, Major Jack. The lawmakers acknowledged that their vote of confidence in the president was necessary to ensure continuity and stability in the state. They recalled Tinubu’s role in resolving a recent political crisis in the state, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to peace and stability.

The assembly members commended President Tinubu for appointing notable indigenes of the state to key positions, which they said had strengthened ties with the federal government and boosted the morale of politicians in the state. Speaker Martin Amaewhule praised Tinubu as a compassionate leader dedicated to repositioning the country for growth, citing his strategic economic policies as impactful and people-oriented.

The lawmakers pledged to mobilize grassroots support for the “Renewed Hope Agenda” and expressed loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. The endorsement is seen as a significant development in the state’s political landscape, reflecting the assembly’s confidence in the president’s ability to drive growth and development.

The Rivers State House of Assembly’s decision is also a testament to the federal government’s efforts to engage with state governments and address regional concerns. As the country navigates its economic and political challenges, the assembly’s endorsement of President Tinubu is likely to be closely watched by other state governments and stakeholders. With the endorsement, the stage is set for further collaboration between the federal government and the Rivers State government, potentially leading to increased investments and development in the region.
