Nigeria’s FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited has announced a scheduled power outage in Anambra state, set to take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The outage is intended to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria to install a new 60 MegaVolt-Ampere transformer and reconfigure the outgoing feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.
The affected areas will include several feeders, namely Army Barracks, Awada, Obosi, Umunya, Juddy Bolema, Nnewi Oba, Nnewi Industrial, Ossomala, 3-3, Niccus, and Ogidi, as well as the Nwaziki 11 kV and Woliwo 11 kV feeders. As a result, bulk electricity supply to these regions will be temporarily disrupted during the specified period.
According to FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited, the planned outage is necessary to facilitate the upgrade and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure.
