The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027. The decision was announced at the Oyo APC Stakeholders’ Summit, held at the party’s secretariat in Ibadan and attended by senators, party leaders and local government chairmen.
Senator Teslim Folarin said the party’s primary objective is to build on its 2023 presidential performance by securing at least a 35 % increase in votes for President Tinubu in the next election. He stressed that unity is the foundation of any meaningful political progress and that the party’s grassroots structures must be vibrant, functional and connected to the people to achieve this goal.
Minister of Power and governorship hopeful Chief Bayo Adelabu described the meeting as the largest APC stakeholders’ assembly since the 2023 elections, noting that peace has returned to the party. He claimed reconciliation is already 90 % complete and urged the remaining aggrieved members to follow the example of leaders who have embraced peace.
Senators Ayoade Adeseun and Fatai Buhari echoed the call for unity, urging party members to settle differences and work together for the party’s success. The large turnout at the summit was seen as evidence of progress in reconciliation efforts, and the outcome has been hailed as a significant step toward repositioning the party for victory in 2027.
Remi Oseni, representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, emphasized that the meeting aligns with President Tinubu’s reconciliation initiative and called on party members to support the decisions taken at the summit. With internal differences largely resolved, the Oyo APC is now focused on delivering a convincing victory for President Tinubu in the next election.
