The election was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner, with INEC’s acting Head of Department, Election and Political Party Monitoring in Nasarawa State, Mohammed Hamza, expressing satisfaction with the electoral process. The newly elected Chairman, Alexander Ombugu, expressed gratitude to the national leadership, state congress delegates, and party members for the opportunity to serve. He appealed for support and encouragement from members across the 13 local government areas of the state to ensure the party’s growth and success.
Ombugu assured that he would run an open-door policy, where every member is carried along and their opinions respected. The new leadership is expected to play a crucial role in preparing the party for the 2027 general elections. With the internal challenges resolved, the party is poised to move forward and increase its chances of success at the polls.
The Labour Party’s national leadership has been working to strengthen its structures and build a strong grassroots base in preparation for the upcoming elections. The election of new executive officers in Nasarawa State is a significant step towards achieving this goal. As the party looks to the future, it is expected to focus on building a strong campaign and engaging with voters across the state.
The newly elected executives will face the challenge of building on the party’s existing support base and expanding its reach to new areas. With the 2027 general elections on the horizon, the party will need to work tirelessly to build momentum and increase its chances of success. The new leadership in Nasarawa State is a positive step towards achieving this goal, and the party’s national leadership will be watching with interest as the new executives begin their work.
