Nigeria Gas Expansion Shell Nigeria Gas Limited

Shell Nigeria Gas Limited (SNG) has signed an agreement to supply gas to SG Industrial FZE, a steel company located in the Guangdong industrial zone in Ogun State. This development marks an expansion of SNG’s operations in the region and adds to its growing list of clients. The company has established itself as a reliable supplier of gas, with a distribution pipeline network spanning approximately 150 kilometers, serving over 150 clients across Abia, Bayelsa, Ogun, and Rivers states.

The achievement is a result of SNG’s collaboration with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML). According to Ralph Gbobo, Managing Director of SNG, “Our commitment is to build, operate, and maintain a gas distribution system that is reliable, resilient, transparent, and designed to fuel growth.” The agreement reflects SNG’s dedication to increasing access to cleaner and more reliable energy, supporting Nigeria’s growth agenda.

SG Industrial FZE’s Vice General Manager, Moya Shua, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it marks a significant step forward in securing reliable energy to power the company’s growth and long-term ambitions. SNG, which was incorporated in 1998 as a fully Shell-owned company, has expanded its natural gas pipeline network, connecting new customers and reinforcing its commitment to boosting domestic gas utilization across Nigeria.

The milestones achieved by SNG align with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative and the broader gas development agenda. By increasing access to natural gas, SNG is contributing to the development of Nigeria’s energy sector and supporting the country’s economic growth. The company’s efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the environment, as natural gas is a cleaner-burning fuel compared to other fossil fuels.

As SNG continues to expand its operations, it is likely to play an increasingly important role in Nigeria’s energy sector. The company’s commitment to reliable and transparent gas distribution is expected to attract more clients, further boosting domestic gas utilization and supporting the country’s economic development. With its expanding network and growing client base, SNG is well-positioned to contribute to Nigeria’s energy growth and development in the years to come.
