The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, has urged entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the state to enhance their skills and competitiveness in the global market. She made this call while speaking at the Deemakay Business Exhibition Season 7, held at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Adeleye commended the resilience of entrepreneurs who continue to build and expand their businesses despite economic challenges, highlighting their crucial role in driving community and statewide economic growth. She acknowledged the support of the Dapo Abiodun-led administration, expressing appreciation for the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME)-friendly policies and business-supportive environment that have enabled initiatives like the Deemakay Exhibition to thrive.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of quality goods and services, customer-friendly approaches, and fair pricing in building strong customer relationships and growing small-scale enterprises sustainably. She interacted with exhibitors, encouraging them to remain consistent in offering high-quality products and services, and to adopt courteous service delivery and improved customer engagement.
The Deemakay Business Exhibition, conceived by its convener and CEO, Adedamola Makanjuola, aims to bring value to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and vendors in Ogun State, enabling them to compete with their counterparts in Lagos, Abuja, and across Nigeria. The exhibition recorded significant success, with over 100 vendors actively engaged.
The event highlights the state government’s commitment to empowering small enterprises, which plays a critical role in sustaining platforms that promote local commerce and innovation. The exhibition is expected to open new doors of opportunity and further strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit in the business community.
