Abiodun constitutes Pension Funds Management Committees, lauds Labour for suspending strike

A member of the All Progressives Congress National Working Committee, Tolu Bankole, has praised the administration of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, describing him as the best governor the state has ever had. According to Bankole, the Abiodun-led government has transformed Ogun into the industrial hub of Nigeria through effective policymaking, fiscal discipline, and inclusive leadership.

During an end-of-year media chat, Bankole highlighted the state’s significant economic growth, citing a rise in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from 100.7 billion in 2021 to 146.0 billion in 2023. He also noted a substantial increase in the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which grew from 2.9 trillion in 2021 to 7.3 trillion in 2024, representing over 150% growth.

Bankole attributed this economic expansion to the administration’s visionary policies, investor-friendly environment, and infrastructural development. He mentioned that the state has constructed or rehabilitated over 600 kilometers of roads, including the Denro–Ishashi–Akute road and several township networks, which have improved mobility and facilitated trade.

The APC chieftain also commended the governor’s efforts in enhancing the learning environment, empowering farmers, and providing affordable housing through site-and-service schemes. He noted that the administration’s commitment to economic diversification has attracted major manufacturing players to the state, expanding opportunities in mining, agro-processing, and technology.

Bankole emphasized that Governor Abiodun’s leadership style has maintained peace in the state for six years, allowing for effective governance and peaceful coexistence among party structures. He praised the governor’s prudent resource management, strategic partnerships, and long-term planning, which prioritize the welfare of citizens.

The APC leader urged residents and citizens to support Governor Abiodun in 2026 and beyond, citing his legacy as a model for inclusive growth, transformational leadership, and excellent governance. With his administration’s achievements, Ogun State has set a new benchmark for good governance, and Bankole believes that the governor’s legacy will serve as a reference point for future leaders.
