Bandit leader Bello Turji not in hiding, can be arrested in 24 hours

A security expert has claimed that notorious bandit leader Bello Turji is not in hiding and could be apprehended within 24 hours if the government takes decisive action. Yahuza Getso, an intelligence and security specialist, made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief program. According to Getso, despite intelligence on Turji’s whereabouts being provided to the government on multiple occasions, he remains at large.

Getso’s comments come amidst fresh allegations made by Turji, who claimed to have had interactions with the current Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle, and two former Northern governors. Turji alleged that these individuals had fueled insecurity in the country, particularly in the North. He also claimed to have participated in peace meetings with the Zamfara State Government during the administration of a former governor.

Getso emphasized that the issue goes beyond Turji and the individuals mentioned, highlighting concerns about national security, integrity, and potential compromises. He questioned the effectiveness of the country’s intelligence and investigation efforts, citing the lack of action taken against those accused of being accomplices to the bandits. Getso also expressed concerns about potential saboteurs within the judiciary, which could be hindering efforts to bring those responsible to justice.

The expert’s comments have raised questions about the government’s approach to addressing insecurity in the country. With Turji’s allegations sparking widespread concern, there are calls for a more robust response to the situation. The government’s ability to effectively utilize intelligence and investigate those accused of complicity will be closely watched in the coming days. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the government will take decisive action to address the security concerns and bring those responsible to justice.
