Ondo: SDP demands resignation of Attorney General over judicial workers strike

The Igbo Community Association has endorsed the Social Democratic Party’s candidate, Obinna Simon—also known as MC Tagwaye—for Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council in the upcoming 2026 elections. President‑General Ikenna Ellis‑Ezenekwe said the endorsement reflects the community’s confidence in Tagwaye’s ability to address pressing local issues, not merely his ethnicity.

At a recent conference in Abuja, Ellis‑Ezenekwe highlighted Tagwaye’s key campaign promises. He pledged to end double taxation in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, a move that would relieve residents burdened by multiple tax payments. Tagwaye also vowed to curb unnecessary demolitions, promising to use legal channels to protect residents’ rights and prevent the unwarranted loss of property.

The association’s support is significant because it signals broad community backing for Tagwaye’s agenda to improve the lives of all Federal Capital Territory residents. As the elections approach, the Igbo Community Association is urging voters in the Abuja Municipal Area Council to rally behind Tagwaye. With the poll scheduled for 21 February 2026, the outcome will be crucial for the council’s future and the wellbeing of its inhabitants.
