The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the promotion of 523 staff members, following a rigorous evaluation process. According to a statement by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, the promotions are part of the organization’s performance reward system, as outlined in the Public Service Rules (PSR) for the 2025 promotion exercise.
The promotions cut across various cadres, with two staff members elevated to the Director’s cadre (GL 17), eight to the Deputy Director cadre (GL 16), and 35 to the Assistant Director cadre (GL 15). Additionally, 35 staff members were promoted to the level of Chief Identity Officers (GL 14), while 109 were moved to Assistant Chief Identity Officers (GL 13). Other promotions include 113 staff members to Principal Identity Officer (GL 12), 82 to Senior Identity Officer ranks (GL 10), and 130 to the rank of Identity Officer 1 (GL 9).
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NIMC, Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote, congratulated the promoted staff and urged them to view their new roles as opportunities to serve the country more effectively. She also reiterated the Commission’s zero-tolerance policy for extortion and warned staff against engaging in such practices. Engr Coker-Odusote encouraged all staff members to work diligently in the coming year to ensure the successful implementation of the National Identification Number project, while prioritizing staff welfare and upholding the dignity of labor.
The promotions are a significant development for the NIMC, as the organization continues to play a crucial role in the implementation of the National Identification Number project. The project aims to provide a unique identifier for all citizens and legal residents in the country, facilitating access to essential services and enhancing national security.
