President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a three-state visit this weekend, traveling to Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos States from Abuja. According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will commence on Friday.
In Borno State, President Tinubu is scheduled to commission several federal and state projects in the company of Governor Babagana Zulum. Additionally, he will attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno Governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, to Hadiza Kam Salem. The President’s visit to Borno aims to strengthen ties with the state government and engage with local stakeholders.
From Maiduguri, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State to offer condolences to the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a prominent Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27. This visit underscores the President’s commitment to showing respect and solidarity with the people of Bauchi during a time of mourning.
Following his visit to Bauchi, President Tinubu will head to Lagos State, where he will spend the end-of-year holidays. While in Lagos, he is expected to be the guest of honor at the Eyo Festival, scheduled to take place on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square. The festival will celebrate notable figures, including President Tinubu’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, and former Lagos Governors Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola. The Eyo Festival is a significant cultural event that showcases the rich heritage and traditions of Lagos State.
The President’s three-state visit highlights his efforts to engage with various stakeholders, demonstrate solidarity, and participate in significant cultural events across the country. As President Tinubu spends the holiday season in Lagos, his presence is expected to bolster morale and reinforce his connection with the people of Nigeria. The visit also underscores the importance of cultural exchange and national unity, as the country moves forward into the new year.
