The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a significant step towards the 2027 general elections by training 1,300 ward agents for its electronic registration (E-registration) exercise in Enugu State. According to the State APC E-registration coordinator, Chief Flavour Eze, the training was conducted across four centers in the state.
The move is part of the party’s efforts to ensure a seamless registration process, which is expected to commence in January 2026. The APC has set a target to complete the registration before the January 30, 2026 deadline, as directed by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. To achieve this, the party has trained five agents per ward, covering all 260 wards in the state.
Eze emphasized the importance of accurate registration, stating that any mistakes could lead to problems. He expressed satisfaction with the agents’ understanding of the process and encouraged them to deliver on their assignment. The coordinator also revealed plans to extend the registration exercise to the villages, where canvassers will be trained to recruit more members.
The Enugu State governor, Mbah, has reportedly taken a keen interest in the registration exercise and has pledged to provide necessary logistics to support the agents. Eze commended the governor’s administration, saying it has introduced various packages and empowerment programs for the people of Enugu.
The APC’s E-registration exercise is a crucial step towards strengthening the party’s presence in Enugu State. With the 2027 general elections approaching, the party’s ability to successfully register its members will be vital in determining its performance at the polls. As the registration process gets underway, the APC will be looking to build on its existing support base and expand its reach across the state.
