Police Launch Crime-Free Christmas Campaign in Jigawa State

The Jigawa State Police Command has initiated a statewide campaign to promote a crime-free Christmas and New Year season. The initiative, dubbed the Crime-Free Christmas Campaign, aims to encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, the campaign is part of proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and safe festive period across the state. The campaign was conducted simultaneously across all Divisional Police Headquarters in Jigawa State, following a directive by the Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad.

The Commissioner of Police directed all Divisional Police Officers to mobilize critical stakeholders, including parents, guardians, religious leaders, and traditional leaders, to sensitize them on the dangers of social vices and criminal activities. Key areas of focus during the sensitization included cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, vandalism, and gender-based violence.

The Jigawa State Police Command reiterated its commitment to community-oriented policing, calling on the public to support its efforts to fight criminality and promote peace and justice. The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through established emergency communication channels.

The police assured the people of Jigawa State of adequate security deployment throughout the festive period and beyond. The campaign is a significant step towards promoting public safety and security during the holiday season. By engaging with the community and encouraging public participation, the police aim to prevent crimes and ensure a peaceful celebration.
