APC Leaders’ Forum Calls for Unity Ahead of 2026 Election

Rivers APC Defends Strategy Amid Calls for Wike to Join

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Leaders’ Forum in Obokun local government area of Osun State has called for unity among party members ahead of the August 8, 2026 gubernatorial election. In a communiqué issued by co-conveners Olatunbosun Oyintiloye and Tunji Adesokun, the Forum emphasized the importance of a unified front to ensure the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, wins the election without undue stress.

The communiqué described Oyebamiji as a loyal, committed, and experienced politician, stressing that his victory requires unity of purpose among party members. The Forum appealed to party leaders at the state and national levels to work towards uniting all interests and opinions within the party to achieve success.

As the election approaches, the Forum urged party leaders to prevent internal sabotage and ensure that the party goes into the poll as a cohesive group. The choice of Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate has made the task easier, but leaders must still work hard to bring all members together. The Forum expressed its full alignment with Oyebamiji’s candidacy and pledged to mobilize support for his victory across the grassroots.

The Forum reiterated an earlier agreement among APC leaders in the local government area that members should set aside allegiance to other aspirants once the party produces a candidate. It commended party leaders for ensuring a peaceful primary election in the state and urged them to bring all aggrieved members together for the party’s success.

The electorate, according to the Forum, are yearning for the return of the APC in the state, but party members must shun divisive tendencies. With dedication and unity, the Forum believes that the party’s victory at the poll will be easier to achieve.

The Forum also commended key party stakeholders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and national leader Chief Bisi Akande, for their commitment to the party’s growth. Other notable stakeholders commended by the Forum include Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, national secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, and state party chairman Sooko Tajudeen Lawal.

As the APC prepares for the gubernatorial election, the call for unity among party members is seen as crucial to the party’s success. With a unified front, the party is likely to improve its chances of winning the election and returning to power in the state. The Forum’s appeal to party leaders to work towards unity and prevent internal sabotage is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
