Kaduna Governor Uba Sani attends Christmas Carol event

Uba Sani preaches unity at Kaduna’s Christmas carol

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has attended the 2025 Christmas carol organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government. This event marks the fulfillment of his promise made last year to attend subsequent editions of the Christmas carol until the end of his tenure. The carol, which took place at the Umaru Yar’Adua Conference Centre, was attended by various Christian denominations and featured prayers and songs by different choristers.

Governor Sani noted that this was his third time sharing in the “sacred moment with the Christian family” in Kaduna State, emphasizing that faith remains a bridge to unity, healing, and collective progress. He highlighted that Christmas is a celebration of love, sacrifice, humility, compassion, and selfless service, virtues that transcend religious boundaries and speak to shared humanity.

The Governor attended the Christmas carol by choice, conviction, and commitment, stating that such gatherings renew hope and reconnect people to timeless values. He appreciated religious leaders and the faithful across Kaduna State for their prayers, counsel, and commitment to peace, which have sustained stability in the state.

Governor Sani also highlighted his administration’s achievements, including the completion of 85 roads covering 785 kilometers in the first phase of the road infrastructure program. In the second phase, over 50 additional roads and bridges spanning more than 550 kilometers were launched. He noted that 18 local government areas are now linked with modern roads, compared to 12 areas that had no motorable roads in over a decade before his assumption of office.

The Governor’s administration has also upgraded 255 Primary Health Care Centres to Level Two status, the highest number achieved by any state in Nigeria. This has improved maternal and child health outcomes, with pregnant women now accessing well-equipped facilities within their communities. A 300-bed Specialist Hospital named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also been commissioned.

Agriculture, which contributes over 42 percent of Kaduna State’s Gross Domestic Product, has received significant budgetary allocations, with the sector’s allocation increasing from less than one percent in 2023 to over ten percent in the last two years. The Governor thanked the President for selecting Kaduna State as the pilot for the Nigeria-China Poultry Project, citing it as a vote of confidence in the state’s stability, capacity, and leadership.

The Christmas carol event symbolizes openness, inclusion, and progress, with Governor Sani emphasizing the importance of unity and inclusive governance. He reiterated his commitment to serving all people of Kaduna State, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or political affiliation, and to continuing his administration’s efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, and economy.
