Insecurity: Nigeria’s Problems Are Planned Says Ayo Opadokun

Former Secretary-General of Afenifere, Ayo Opadokun, has attributed the lingering insecurity in Nigeria to deliberate efforts by certain individuals who do not want the current government to succeed. Speaking in Offa, Kwara State, Opadokun stated that the prevalence of terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminality, particularly in the northern region, is not accidental but rather a planned attempt to destabilize the country.

According to Opadokun, who was installed as Grand Patron of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the local government chapter, there are destructive elements with diverse interests that are determined to tear the country apart. He alleged that these elements have sponsors who are providing support to the terrorists, thereby exacerbating the insecurity situation.

Opadokun emphasized that the current situation is a result of far-reaching decisions made by some Nigerians who are opposed to the government and are working to destabilize the country. He called on the Federal Government to intensify its efforts in the fight against terrorism, erase any doubts about its commitment, and prosecute the sponsors of the insurgents.

The Nigerian government has been grappling with insecurity issues, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings, which have resulted in the loss of lives and properties. The situation has raised concerns among citizens and the international community, with many calling for decisive action to address the issue.

Opadokun’s statement comes at a time when the Nigerian government is facing criticism for its handling of the insecurity situation. The government has been accused of not doing enough to address the root causes of the problem and to bring the perpetrators to justice. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to the challenges and work towards restoring peace and stability in the country.

The Federal Government’s ability to effectively address the insecurity situation will be crucial in determining the country’s progress and stability. With the support of citizens and the international community, the government can work towards eradicating terrorism and other forms of criminality, and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
