APC Leaders Unite for Tinubu’s 2027 Reelection

Party chieftain reveals reasons for mass defection to APC in Abia

Prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have pledged to work together to ensure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027. The commitment was made by former Senate Leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and former First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, among others, during a recent event in Oyo town.

The APC leaders, who gathered for the flag-off of a tour of 14 federal constituencies in the state, emphasized the need to put aside internal differences and unite behind President Tinubu’s re-election bid. The event was also attended by the Oyo State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Olayide Abass, and several other notable party chieftains.

According to Senator Folarin, all leaders of the party in the state have agreed to prioritize unity over personal ambitions, with the ultimate goal of delivering a landslide victory for President Tinubu in 2027. Folarin noted that the party aims to increase its vote count in the state by at least 35% through grassroots mobilization across all 33 local government areas.

In the 2023 presidential election, President Tinubu secured 449,884 votes in Oyo State, one of the strongest margins nationwide. The APC leaders are determined to build on this momentum and ensure an even more decisive victory in 2027. Mrs. Ajimobi described the move as a unifying platform that reflects the strength and discipline within the party, and appealed to leaders to close ranks and prioritize peace.

The APC’s commitment to unity and re-election efforts in Oyo State is significant, given the party’s performance in the 2023 elections. With the 2027 elections still some years away, the party’s focus on grassroots mobilization and unity is likely to be crucial in determining its success. As the APC continues its tour of the state, it remains to be seen how the party’s efforts will translate into votes in 2027.
