A prominent member of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Gbolahan Yusuf, has expressed confidence that the party will secure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Yusuf made this statement during the launch of the Presidential Coalition Committee and political sensitization program in Ibadan, Oyo State, which was organized by Hon. Ayotunde Nurudeen Bakare, a party chieftain.
The event, attended by APC leaders from various states, including members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, aimed to rally support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Yusuf emphasized that no opposition party currently has the capacity to defeat the APC, citing the party’s strength and popularity.
According to Yusuf, the reforms implemented by President Tinubu, although causing temporary discomfort, are necessary for rebuilding the economy. He urged Nigerians to be patient, stating that the current challenges are part of a rebuilding process that will ultimately lead to prosperity. Yusuf encouraged party members to remain supportive, as the APC is the only party with the capacity to bring about positive change.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives, represented by Hon. Abiodun Mafe, advised Nigerians to safeguard their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) against theft and other malicious activities. Faleke emphasized the importance of PVCs in ensuring that citizens can exercise their right to vote in the 2027 elections. He also encouraged those who have not yet registered to obtain their PVCs within the designated timeframe.
The APC’s confidence in its ability to secure re-election in 2027 is rooted in its perceived strength and the popularity of President Tinubu. As the party continues to mobilize support, it remains to be seen how the opposition will respond to these claims. With the 2027 general elections approaching, the APC’s strategy will be closely watched by political observers and Nigerians alike. The party’s ability to maintain its dominance will depend on its capacity to address the country’s challenges and deliver on its promises.
