Oyo APC Leaders Unite for Tinubu’s 2027 Reelection Bid

Prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, including former Senate Leader Senator Teslim Folarin and Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu, have pledged to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The commitment was made during a tour of 14 federal constituencies in the state, which aimed to mobilize party members and strengthen unity ahead of the upcoming election.

The event, held in Oyo town, was attended by key party leaders, including the Oyo State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Olayide Abass, and several senators. In his address, Senator Folarin emphasized the importance of putting personal ambitions aside to work towards a common goal. He noted that the party’s mission is to increase President Tinubu’s vote margin in the state by at least 35% through intensified grassroots mobilization.

In the 2023 election, President Tinubu secured 449,884 votes in Oyo State, one of the strongest margins nationwide. The party leaders have resolved to build on this success by prioritizing unity and rebuilding internal trust. Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, a former first lady in Oyo State, described the move as a unifying platform that reflects the strength and discipline within the party. She appealed to leaders to close ranks and prioritize peace in the APC.

The tour of the 14 federal constituencies is seen as a strategic move to galvanize support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid. With the 2027 election approaching, the APC is focusing on increasing its vote share in Oyo State. The party’s ability to put internal wranglings aside and work towards a common goal will be crucial in achieving this objective. As the APC continues its mobilization efforts, the outcome of the 2027 election in Oyo State will be closely watched.
