Warriors win overshadowed by Draymond Green Steve Kerr clash

The Golden State Warriors secured a significant 120-97 win over the Orlando Magic at Chase Center on Monday, marking their second consecutive victory. Despite the win, the team’s performance was overshadowed by a heated exchange between Draymond Green and Steve Kerr, which left Stephen Curry visibly frustrated.

The incident occurred during the second half, resulting in Green heading to the locker room mid-game. However, the Warriors, led by Curry, dominated the Magic in the second half, outscoring them by 17 points in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Curry contributed 26 points and 6 assists to the team’s effort.

Speaking after the game, Curry expressed his frustration that the focus had shifted to the negative aspects of the team’s performance, despite their recent successes. “Yeah, but that frustration has led to two wins,” Curry said. “It’s unfortunate that we’re up here, considering where we’ve been, two game win streak and protecting our home court, that the vibes of the questions are a little bit more negative than they should be.”

Steve Kerr and Draymond Green reflected on their on-court clash, with Kerr stating that he had taken a time-out to refocus the team. Green explained that he had removed himself from the situation to cool off, saying “Temper spilled over and I just thought it was best that I get out of there.” Despite the confrontation, both players took satisfaction in the team’s victory, which propelled the Warriors to eighth place in the standings.

The win marks the Warriors’ first back-to-back victories since December 8. The team will look to continue their winning streak against the Mavericks on Thursday. With their current record of 15-15, the Warriors are working to regain momentum and make a push for a stronger position in the standings.
