The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has been conferred with a traditional title in Plateau State. The title, “Kaeh-rit,” meaning “the good seed of Ampang East,” was bestowed upon him in Kanke Local Government Area on Saturday. This is the second traditional title Yilwatda has received in less than two weeks, following a similar honor from the Tiv Nation in Benue State in recognition of his humanitarian services.
Yilwatda expressed his gratitude for the title and attributed his political growth to President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as “one of the best politicians you can learn from.” He stated that he is learning from the president and aims to emulate his success. Yilwatda also announced a donation of 10 million, seedlings, and other farm inputs to farmers in Kanke Local Government Area to support food security, aligning with President Tinubu’s efforts to enhance food production and reduce poverty.
The APC chairman welcomed Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s recent defection to the party, citing the benefits of having a unified government and party structure in Plateau State. He emphasized the APC’s inclusive membership policy, where all members have equal rights regardless of their tenure in the party. Yilwatda noted that this approach would facilitate a single, unified family working together for the benefit of the people of Plateau, with aligned national and local government structures.
The traditional title ceremony took place in Kanke Local Government Area, where Yilwatda was honored for his contributions. The event highlights the APC’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Plateau State and promote unity among its members. With Yilwatda’s leadership and the party’s inclusive approach, the APC aims to make a positive impact on the state’s development and governance. The donation to farmers and the emphasis on food security also underscore the party’s commitment to addressing key challenges facing the region.
