Labour Party Breaks Free from Internal Challenges

The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has stated that the party has overcome a significant obstacle with the departure of its 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. In his New Year’s message to party members, Abure expressed relief that the party is now free from the challenges that had been hindering its progress. He noted that the Labour Party has formed a coalition with Nigerians and remains a viable alternative for achieving a prosperous nation.

According to Abure, the year 2025 was marked by mixed emotions, with the party facing numerous distractions from some of its leaders. However, under his leadership, the party was able to overcome these challenges and maintain its peaceful existence. Abure attributed the party’s ability to move forward to the breaking of “shackles of bondage” that had been holding it back for over a year. This development reportedly occurred on December 31, 2025, in Enugu.

The Labour Party has been a significant player in Nigerian politics, and its ability to overcome internal challenges is seen as a positive step forward. With the departure of Peter Obi, the party is now looking to move forward and build on its coalition with Nigerians. Abure’s message emphasized the party’s commitment to achieving a prosperous nation and its determination to remain a viable alternative to other political parties.

As the party enters the new year, it is likely to focus on consolidating its position and preparing for future elections. The Labour Party’s ability to overcome its internal challenges and move forward will be closely watched by political observers and Nigerians alike. With its coalition with Nigerians and its commitment to achieving a prosperous nation, the party is well-positioned to play a significant role in shaping the country’s political landscape.
